Install Mercurial on Ubuntu 10.04

To install the Mercurial latest version on ubuntu 10.04 use the following commands:

These four commands will help you to get install the latest version of the Mercurial (i.e. 2.0)

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mercurial-ppa/releases
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install mercurial
To remove the mercurial from your ubuntu 10.04 machine then you can use this command:
  • sudo apt-get remove mercurial-common --purge

OR we can use

  • sudo apt-get remove mercurial --purge
  • sudo apt-get autoremove # will delete the now unused mercurial-common
